Privacy Policy

Our approach

Lisner is built "local-first" and "privacy first". Your entries are created and kept on your phone, and they leave it only in the specific cases described below. This page explains what those cases are.

• Lisner turns your speech into text on your phone. The audio is not sent anywhere.
• Private entries. An entry you have not shared stays in the app on your phone. When iCloud backup is on (see below), it is also stored in your own Apple iCloud account, which we cannot read.
• An entry leaves your phone when you share it with your therapist. You choose this per entry and can stop sharing an entry or disconnect from a therapist in the app.
• If you turn on body-data sharing, Lisner shares it with the therapist you are connected to. You can turn this off at any time in Settings, which stops further sharing.
• Account information. Your name and email address, from Sign in with Apple or Google, are used to create and secure your account.
• We may collect your phone model, iOS version and app version, to fix problems and support you.
• If you use the in-app technical-help form, we receive what you shared. These messages go to Lisner support. They are not sent to your therapist and are not monitored for emergencies.
• Crash and performance reports. We receive crash and performance reports.
• Lisner can back up your entries to your own Apple iCloud account. That data is held by Apple under your Apple ID. We do not have access to it.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• The therapist(s) you connect to — only the entries and body data you choose to share.
• Service providers that run Lisner for us — Google and Apple.
• When the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

Your choices

• Share or stop sharing any entry; disconnect from a therapist.
• Turn body-data sharing on or off.
• Delete any entry in the app.
• Delete your account in Settings.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or for its deletion, at privacy@lisner.ai.

Children

Lisner is not intended for children under 13.

Not an emergency service

Lisner is not a crisis service and is not monitored. If you are in danger, call 911 or 988.

Cookies

Our website, lisner.ai, uses cookies and Google Ads to understand how visitors find us and to measure sign-ups. This applies to the website only, not to your entries in the app. You can opt out at Google's ad settings or block cookies in your browser.
